1: What inspired you to get into your craft?

Kanisha: Spirit connects me to the unseen realm of the creative mind and brings it to the tangible world.

2: What advice do you have for new Native entrepreneurs?

Kanisha: Just do it! Don't wait! Taking action is the hardest part, but you will be glad you did! Even if you fail! You still tried! And that is where it counts. You learn

3: How do you bring tradition into your craft?

Kanisha: Think good thoughts in every stitch. Pass it to my children.

4: What is the future of Native art or entrepreneurship?

Kanisha: Loving yourself, loving others, and loving the earth. Following your heart makes money too. It's okay to be playful!

5: What last film, song, or art you experienced that moved you?

Kanisha: Fleetwood Mac, you can go your own way

6: What is your favorite traditional food?

Kanisha: Pan-fried hooligan, fried herring sac roe, stir-fried nettles, and fresh twisted stock(watermelon berry shoots)

7: What is something people wouldn't expect about Alaska?

Kanisha: Roads don't go everywhere! We fly and boat home.
